Today's America:
"Alligator Alcatraz", the most notorious of the American (let’s call them what they are) concentration camps is officially named the Everglades Detention Facility. It began housing detainees around July 3, 2025. "Alligator Alcatraz" is still open and operational.
It's time we stop fantasizing that "it can't happen here." Contracts to build enough new American concentration camps to house at least 80K - that's 80 THOUSAND - have been funded and the contracts have been signed.
Not only CAN it happen. It's already well underway.

But the below paragraphs in Heather Cox Richardson column today did just that.
Thankfully, there are still some people doing serious investigative journalism that brought enough attention to the situation that it was turned around. But, for my money, that was just the fascists testing to see what they could get away with. The full column is below.
<<Today, reporters noticed that the online United States Constitution, maintained by the Library of Congress, was missing parts of Article I, the part of the Constitution that lays out the rights and duties of Congress. Parts of Section 8 and all of Sections 9 and 10 were gone.

Those include Congress’s control over the District of Columbia, Congress’s power to make the laws, the promise that habeas corpus would not be suspended, the stipulation that no money can be used by the government unless Congress has appropriated it, the requirement that no president can accept gifts from foreign countries, and the specification that only Congress can levy tariffs>>

I am hoping for a couple of crucial impediments to Trump achieving his true mission, which is as a Putin agent. That mission isn't simply to grift more billions. I believe that, as has been reported on in multiple publications, Trump was recruited by the KGB in 1987 while in Russia, has been being groomed since then, and having now attained the office of the President of the United States, is in the process of achieving his ultimate assignment - destruction of both American democratic institutions and the American economy.

As to the hope portion of this note - 1) that the courts will slow his ability to achieve his goals - at least until it gets to the Supremes, 2) that the resistance which is already building and is gaining momentum will enable a retaking of not only the U.S. House but the Senate as well, 3) that the resistance movement will hound the corporate media enough that they start acting like actual journalists and call out his trash by tagging and retagging and retagging them
